Devon is one of the few acupuncturists in the Tampa Bay area who is nationally Board-Certified in Medical Technology as well as Acupuncture. Many acupuncturists are not well-trained in Medical Technology, and fewer still are Board Certified in it.
Devon has been a Licensed Medical Technologist in Microbiology, Serology, Clinical Chemistry, Hematology, Immuno-hematology, and Molecular Pathology since 1995, and often incorporates medical technology into his patient treatments.
Devon has a solid working knowledge of Western medicine and integrates Western with Oriental medicine into his diagnostic and treatment approach. When indicated, he may order blood, stool, urine, or hair analysis. With 17 years of experience in medical technology he can narrow down the test to order instead of having the patient come back multiple times for a blood draw. He can also explain in great detail the reason for a specific test and its indication.
Devon spends time with patients: 1.5 to 2 hours for the first visit and 45 to 60 minutes for follow-up treatments allows plenty of time for high-quality, individualized care.
Devon is personally available via e-mail or phone for patient questions. He often engages in e-mail dialogue with patients, sending them educational materials and relevant research information.
